CONVENTIONAL TREATMENT
Primary concern in the treatment of opiate addiction is the patients self esteem. It is crucial that
the patient recover from treatment with a new and confident sense of self. Currently, the two primary treatment options,
methadone-based programs and traditional detox programs, are often ineffective in allowing the patient to recognize their own self
confidence. While often ineffective, they can also be dangerous.
Methadone-based programs make use of the synthetic narcotic methadone. Patients are given doses of methadone as a way
of treating their addiction to opiates. But, as a result of a new long term craving for methadone, patients simply replace one
addiction with another. Methadone characteristically embeds itself deep within the body, thus making it one of the most difficult
drugs to detoxify from. Often patients become addicted to the methadone treatment program for years.
Traditional detox
programs strive for the patient to go through the withdrawal process with only mild sedation or no sedation at all. Often times
this treatment is not affective because patients are unable to withstand the horrible symptoms of withdrawal, which include
fever, vomiting, diarrhea, severe cramping and nausea. This is a lengthy period of withdrawal that is often times ineffective.
Rapid Detox is proud to offer a treatment that is vastly different than these conventional treatments. We believe our
treatment is the most effective process at regaining the health and self esteem of each individual patient.
